Former State Rep. Tom Huff’s Memorial Set for Saturday

The Gig Harbor resident died on Sunday, April 14, at the age of 80.

The memorial service for former Republican State Rep. Tom Huff will be held this Saturday, April 20, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor. The service will start at 11 a.m. according to church staff.

The Gig Harbor resident died on Sunday, April 14, at the age of 80. Huff served in the State House for three terms, first being elected in 1994, where he served as Chairman of the Appropriations Committee.

Washington State Republican Party Chairman Kirby Wilbur released the following statement on Wednesday.

“Tom was a great Republican and a man of decency, principle and humility with a zeal for public service and doing the right thing. He will be missed. Earth is a lesser place for his absence, but Heaven is richer. May God bless and comfort his family and friends.”

Huff most recently served on the Redistricting Commission as one of two Republican members, along with Slade Gorton.

He received the Slade Gorton Lifetime Achievement award from the Washington State Republican Party at their fall 2012 dinner in recognition of his service to the Party during his career.
