My mom has been paying for a non-published number for the past 4-5 years and we found out today that it is still published. How we found out is from a 911 operator.
When you call 911, they know if it is published or not published, and our number has been coming up published when it should be unpublished. My mom called CenturyLink, and they refused to give her back her money that she has been paying for a non-published number. She pays 75 cents every month for it. They will only go back 3 months is all.
Thank god she has switched to Comcast. So you may want to warn your reader's about this.
