On this day in 1992, Misty Copsey disappeared.
The 14-year-old girl spent the day at the Puyallup Fair and missed her bus home. She called her mom that night to say she was on her way home but never returned.
Over the years, Puyallup Police have followed many leads and her disappearance is still considered an active case, with her mom Diana Smith, continuing the search for her daughter. In 1993, a pair of girls jeans and underwear were found in a ditch on SR 410. The Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway, and many others have emerged as suspects.
But the fact still remains - Misty remains missing.
At the time of her disappearance Misty was wearing a navy blue sweatshirt, baggy light blue jeans and brown suede shoes. She has a mole under her right eye and a scar under her right knee.

AFTER WAITING SINCE 09.15.05, PUYALLUP POLICE TOLD COPSEY'S MOTHER IN PERSON THAT RED PAINT FOUND ON COPSEY'S CLOTHES WAS TESTED AND DID NOT MATCH PAINT FROM RANDY ACHZIGER'S FORMER RED PORSCHE. THE TEST NEVER HAPPENED AND THE POLICE KNEW THAT THE RED PAINT WAS MISSING BEFORE THEY SAID THIS. ROBINSON ALSO KNOWS THE COPSEY CASE RED PAINT CAN BE MISSING AND LIKELY REALLY NEVER WAS FOUND; HE KNOWS IT DOES NOT MATTER AS IT WAS ALREADY TESTED IN 2003 AND CAN BE COMPARED FROM THE PAPERWORK TO NEW PAINT TESTING OF THE RED PORSCHE PAINT.
