20th Anniversary of Misty Copsey's Disappearance Still Haunts Puyallup

Twenty years ago, 14-year-old Misty Copsey disappeared from the Puyallup Fair. Today, the Puyallup Police department hopes the anniversary sparks a lead in her case.

On this day in 1992, Misty Copsey disappeared.

The 14-year-old girl spent the day at the Puyallup Fair and missed her bus home. She called her mom that night to say she was on her way home but never returned.

Over the years, Puyallup Police have followed many leads and her disappearance is still considered an active case, with her mom Diana Smith, continuing the search for her daughter. In 1993, a pair of girls jeans and underwear were found in a ditch on SR 410. The Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway, and many others have emerged as suspects.
