Possible Overdose:  On July 26, a man was found walking along a path stumbling and wearing no shoes, seemingly disoriented. When crews arrived, they found him to be lethargic and not alert, swaying back and forth, and frequently closing his eyes. He stated he had taken about 6 tabs of his prescribed medications and hadn’t slept in a long time. Due to his unsteady condition, he allowed crews to transport him to a hospital.

Laceration: On July 27, a woman at an assisted living facility fell from a standing position and struck her face on a door frame. When crews arrived, they found staff holding a compression dressing on her eye to control bleeding. Crews bandaged two lacerations, one above her eye and one below, and then transported her to a hospital.

Woman Fallen: On July 28, crews responded to reports of a woman fallen. Her family showed up for their weekly visit and found her on the bathroom floor where she stated she had fallen a few days prior and was unable to get up. She denied any injuries but reported pain and bruising where she had been lying. She also stated she had not had anything to eat or drink in that time. Crews transported her to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Sudden Hearing Loss: On July 28, a teenage boy was standing getting a haircut when he had a sudden onset of hearing loss. He told his dad he couldn’t hear anything and at that time became stiff and had to be carried to a nearby couch. When crews arrived, his dad stated he never fell and was talking the entire time. The boy did not remember anything after losing his hearing. His parents did not want him to be transported so crews did an examination and told to the parents contact them if his symptoms reoccurred.

Man Fallen: On July 29, a man was walking out of a store when he didn’t see a few steps and fell to the ground, breaking his fall with his left arm. Crews arrived and bandaged a few abrasions on his wrists and left knee. He was then transported to a hospital for further evaluation of his arm.

False Alarm: On July 29, crews responded to a medical alarm button. When they arrived at the home, they were able to use the key in the Knox Box to gain entry after no answer to the door. They searched the home and found it to be empty. Upon leaving, the homeowner returned home from an errand and had accidentally tripped her medical alarm. Crews returned into service.

Woman Fallen: On July 30, a woman fell to the ground from a standing position while walking to her bed. She was unable to get up so she fell asleep on the floor. When she didn’t answer her phone the following day, her daughter came to check on her and found her still on the floor. When crews arrived, she stated she was uninjured but that she had been dizzy before her fall and wanted to be evaluated at the hospital. She was transported for further care.

Bee Attack: On July 31, a woman was working in her fruit orchard when she was attacked and stung by a hive of bees. She ran out of her orchard and down to the waterfront, jumping into the water to get the bees off her. She walked back up to her house where her husband called 911. When crews arrived, she stated that she felt as though she was going to pass out and vomit and was having difficulty breathing. She was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
