Burglars Swipe $20,000 in Jewelry From Downtown Store

Thieves broke into Reverence Jewelry Design Gallery early Sunday morning.

Burglars drove away with about $20,000 worth of jewelry from a downtown store early Sunday morning.

According to the , officers were dispatched to , 3116 Harborview Dr., in reference to an alarm activation on Dec. 11 around 4:13 a.m.

When officials got to the scene 3 minutes later, the store was empty, and the glass front door and glass display cases were destroyed.

With the amount of items taken in a short period of time, police believe the unknown suspect(s) had a car at the scene.

Authorities also found a hammer on the floor, which is believed to have been used during the burglary.

When police contacted the store owners, they confirmed that the thieves didn't take the most valuable items, which were locked up in the safe.
