On March 16, the fire department and sheriff were called to a suicide threat. The patient said he wanted help but did not want to go to the hospital. On March 17, firefighters were dispatched to a burn complaint. The crew arrived to find a 4-by-4 natural vegetation fire producing heavy smoke. Medics offered to transport her to the hospital, but she said she felt fine and would wait for a while before driving herself to the ER if the bleeding did not stop. Medics redressed the wound and returned in service.
