On July 1, the soft shoulder caught the tires of a vehicle leading to a one-car rollover on Purdy Drive and 132nd. The vehicle turned onto its side, with the driver self-extricating. She did not want to be evaluated or transported, and the scene was released to the Washington State Patrol.

On July 2, smoke was reported from an apartment in the 5900 block of Soundview Drive. The tenant tried to put out a kitchen fire with a fire extinguisher but was overcome with smoke and possibly inhaled some of the dry chemical agent. The fire was contained in the apartment, and the tenant transported to a hospital for continued treatment.

On July 3, the on Kimball Drive caught fire at 1:30 a.m. Crews responded to find a fully involved fire in the main building with extension through the breezeway to the outbuilding used for storage of donations. The cause is under investigation by the Pierce County Fire Marshal. One firefighter was injured and transported to a hospital.

On July 4, at the , a small airplane with one person on board was experiencing possible problems with the plane’s landing gear as its warning light activated during flight. Fire department vehicles remained on standby until the aircraft had safely landed.

On July 6, an 86-year-old female fell on some steps after tripping on exposed aggregate concrete. She was treated for a laceration on her scalp and transported to the hospital for further care.

On July 7, a 30-year-old male lost control of his motorcycle near the 8300 block of SR 16, fell off and skid across the road surface while traveling 60 mph. He was wearing a helmet and was treated at the scene with multiple abrasions then transported to the hospital for continued care.
