EMS/Rescue: 82

On Feb. 22, medics responded to a woman with abdominal pain. She said the pain became unbearable when she attempted to sit in her vehicle to drive to the hospital. She also stated that she was nauseated and dizzy upon standing. The medic treated and transported her to the hospital for further evaluation.

On Feb. 23, medics were called to assist a man with a diabetic problem. He reported of feeling “weak and felt his vision was closing in on him”. The crew gave him a piece of peanut butter toast and a glass of milk. After eating, his symptoms resolved and his blood sugar level was found to be within normal range. He was left in the care of his daughter.

On Feb. 24, medics were called to assist a man with depression. He denied that he had thoughts of harming himself or attempting suicide on this day. He also stated that he has medication, but it didn’t seem to be working and wanted to be seen by someone today. Medics transported him to the hospital.

On Feb. 25, medics were dispatched to a care facility for a man with chest pain and difficulty breathing. The staff had already started treating the man before medics arrived. Although upon arrival the man was breathing normally and his chest pain had resolved, the medic still transported him to the hospital due to the results of the EKG. 

On Feb. 26, firefighters responded to a rear-end type accident involving two cars. One of the drivers complained of back pain and nausea. Medics treated and transported her to the hospital for further evaluation.

On Feb. 27, medics responded to a call for a man fallen. Upon arrival, the man said that he was walking through the parking lot and a felt a pop in his right hip when he stepped off the curb thus dropping him to the ground. He said that he knew he dislocated his hip again and did not attempt to bear any weight. The crew noted an obvious deformity of the right hip consistent with a dislocation. The man was treated and transported to the hospital.

On Feb. 28, medics were dispatched to a man who fell from a ladder. The man said that he fell backward off the ladder about 2 feet. He had sharp pain in the middle of his back and was unable to get up off the floor. The medic treated and transported him to the hospital.
