On Oct. 7, a woman drove her vehicle head on into a guardrail. She suffered a significant laceration to her left shin, minor cuts and bruises and complained of pain in her ankle. Medics treated and transported her to the hospital.

On Oct. 8, a woman was visiting Gig Harbor and forgot to bring her insulin. Her blood sugar was out of control, and she was feeling disoriented and weak. Medics transported her to the hospital.

On Oct. 9, a man was standing on a chair hanging some ornaments when the chair gave way. He fell through the framework and suffered a substantial laceration to his leg. Medics treated and transported him to the hospital for stitches and a tetanus shot.

On Oct. 10, a 16-year-old driver skidded off the road, hit a tree and rolled his vehicle twice down a 20-foot embankment. The young man was uninjured and able to climb up the embankment and call for help. After examining him for injuries, medics released him to his parents who had arrived at the scene.

On Oct. 11, firefighters were called to a tree that had fallen. Some branches were caught in the phone lines, and the tree was blocking the road. Century Link responded with a boom truck to remove the branches. Meanwhile firefighters cut up and removed the portion of the tree that was blocking the roadway.

On Oct. 12, medics transported an elderly woman who had fallen three days earlier. At the time of the fall, her wrist was swollen, and it had not yet receded. Medics transported her for a possible fractured wrist.

On Oct. 13, medics responded to a call for a woman fallen. She had taken a sleep aid and then fell as she was on her way to the bedroom. Upon examination, medics felt that she had fractured her hip. They treated her for the pain and took her to the hospital.
