On Aug. 26, an 81-year- old man became light-headed while seated in church. Bystanders noticed and assisted him to the floor. Medics arrived, evaluated but did not transport at his request.

On Aug. 27, carelessly discarded BBQ briquettes along with yard debris caused a greenbelt area behind homes to ignite near 140th Street Court. The fire was extinguished, and a sprinkler was left in place to continuously water the area and prevent re-ignition.

On Aug. 29, firefighters responded to a 7-by-3-foot area smoldering along on the Cushman Trail near 14th Avenue. The engine company located the landmarks given, and extinguished the fire completely. Evidence of many campfires and discarded rubbish was found in the surrounding area.

On Aug. 30, a 27-year-old man reported a laceration and abrasions to his leg after he was cut off and nearly collided with a vehicle on State Route 16 near Purdy. To avoid a collision, he dumped the motorcycle, and the foot peg grazed his leg. He had no other injuries and did not wish to be transported.

On Aug. 31, fire engines responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Fox Island. The vehicle was parked on Fox Island Boulevard, and the engine and passenger compartments were fully involved. A tow truck was called to the scene and removed the car after extinguishing the fire. Its cause was unknown, and the owner was not present at the scene.
