Fox Island Still Reeling From Lake Cushman Drowning
Witnesses say Kyle Austin Pape, 20, dove into the lake on Sunday but never resurfaced. Rescuers found his body pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Fox Island community is still reeling from the news that one of its own drowned in Lake Cushman on Sunday afternoon.
According to several media reports, Kyle Austin Pape, 20, drowned after he dove into the lake.
His friends tried to search for him, but he never resurfaced, according to the Associated Press.
Rescue crews recovered his body about 6:30 p.m. - more than an hour and a half after authorities first received the call - and was pronounced dead at the scene.
