GHPD Blotter: 7 Seas Van Vandalized, Arson at Safeway

Theft of Trailer: Sometime between June 21 and 25, an unknown suspect(s) stole a trailer from the 5100 block of Rosedale Street.

DWLS/Arrest: On June 24, police arrested a 16-year-old boy at the second-degree DWLS for an MIP charge.

DWLS/Arrest: On June 26, police arrested a 48-year-old man in the 10300 block of Harbor Hill Drive. He was cited for second-degree DWLS.

Arson: On June 27, police were dispatched in reference to smoke coming from the women's restroom at Safeway. The fire consisted of a small paper bag with toilet paper. Police said an unknown suspect(s) placed the bag in the trash can and lit it on fire. There was no property damage.

DUI/Arrest: On June 27, police arrested a 43-year-old woman for DUI in the 8800 block SR 16. 

Trespassing/Arrest: On June 29, police were dispatched to the Pt. Fosdick in reference to trespassing. They arrested a 31-year-old man for trespass. Prior to the incident, he had been served with a trespass notice for the business.

Shoplifting: On June 29, a man entered and placed nine electric toothbrushes in a shopping cart and tried to leave without paying for them. When a store employee asked him for a receipt, he ran out of the store. Total loss is estimated at $900.

Vandalism: On June 30, police were dispatched to at 3006 Judson St. in reference to vandalism. An unknown suspect(s) broke the company van that was parked behind the business. The passenger side rear door glass was broken and shattered, but was held together by a see-through decal covering the windows. The total damage is estimated at $800.

Theft: Sometime between June 26 and July 3, an unknown suspect(s) stole 12 road construction signs from Rosedale Street and Skansie Avenue. The signs belonged to the company, Miles Resources.

Fishing Violation: On July 3, Gig Harbor's Marine Service Unit found three crab traps in the Gig Harbor Bay. Since crabbing cannot occur on Tuesday and Wednesday, the traps were pulled. Police contacted the two owners and issued a warning.

Theft/Arrest: On July 3, police were dispatched to for a theft. The store employees said sometime between July 1 and 2, a 21-year-old woman took two $600 gift cards without paying. Police were eventually able to identify and locate the suspect. The woman was arrested for second-degree theft. She said the remaining balance of the cards were $143.88 and $422.23, but she said she had lost the first card. 

Residential Burglary: On July 3, police were dispatched to a burglary in the 8000 block of Shirley Avenue. Police found a broken window next to the basement door but did not find evidence of the suspect(s) entering the residence.

Vehicle Prowl: On July 4, an unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's unlocked car at Rosedale Townhomes, 4418 Rosedale St., and took her Prada purse containing her ID, debit card and several checks worth more than $900 total. The thief also took a camera bag containing a Canon camera and several lenses.
