GHPD Blotter: Police Respond to Vehicle Prowls, Vandalism, Dog Bite

Vehicle Prowl: On Sept. 7, the victim contacted police after his iPod was stolen from his car that was parked in the 3900 block of Harborview Drive.

DUI/Arrest: On Sept. 8, police arrested a 42-year-old man near Stinson Avenue and Grandview Street for DUI.

Warrant/DWLS/Arrest: On Sept. 9, Police arrested a 32-year-old man near Borgen Boulevard and Harbor Hill Drive for third-degree DWLS. He was also issued an infraction for no proof of insurance. The man also had an outstanding $10,000 misdemeanor warrant through Kitsap County. 

Warrant/Shoplifting/False Statement/Arrest: On Sept. 10, police were dispatched to a report of shoplifting at Albertsons. Police arrested for third-degree theft. He was also cited for making false statement to law enforcement and third-degree DWLS.

Animal Bite: On Sept. 10, police were dispatched to the Gig Harbor RV Resort where a 66-year-old woman was bit by a dog. Upon investigation, the yellow labrador mix bit the woman on the leg, who was standing between the vehicles. The dog was on a leash at the time of the incident. The owner said the dog has bitten a neighbor two years ago. The dog was recommended to be quarantined for 10 days. The case was turned over to Kitsap County Animal Control.

Vandalism: Sometime between Sept. 10 and 18, an unknown suspect(s) vandalized an outbuilding at Wilkinson Farm Park. Nothing was stolen from the building.

Vehicle Prowl: Sometime between Sept. 11 and 12, an unknown suspect(s) stole the victim's in-dash stereo, video camera, iPod, cell phone, U.S. passport and a wallet. The car was parked in the 3500 block of Rust Street.

Vandalism: On Sept. 13, a business owner contacted police regarding fresh graffiti on a storage unit located outside of her business in the 6600 block of 38th Avenue NW.

Vehicle Prowl: On Sept. 14, an unknown suspect(s) stole a car stereo, amplifier and speakers from a vehicle that was parked at the Sunset Grill. Estimated total loss: $750.

Vehicle Prowl: Sometime between Sept. 15 and 16, an unknown suspect(s) entered a car that was parked at Harborwood East Apartment and stole some change and a GPS.

Theft: On Sept. 15, police were dispatched to Starbucks for a reported theft of an iPad. The victim left her iPad unattended while she went to the restroom. When she returned, the iPad was gone.
