GHPD Blotter: Thieves Steal Coins From Newspaper Machine

Burglary: Sometime between Aug. 13 and 20, a roofing company reported that its $8,000 welder was stolen in the 4800 block of Pt. Fosdick Drive.

DWLS/Arrest: On Aug. 18, a 32-year-old woman was cited for third-degree DWLS, infraction for failing to provide proof of insurance and failing to provide the vehicle registration in the 5500 block of Olympic Drive.

Vehicle Prowl/Vandalism: On Aug. 19, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver side window of a car in the 4000 block of 32nd Avenue Court NW. An iPod, valued at $110, was missing. 

Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance/Arrest: On Aug. 20, police pulled over a 19-year-old female driver for non-functioning headlight near Olympic Drive NW and State Route 16 Hwy eastbound. The driver was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana under 40 grams. Police seized marijuana and a pipe.

Theft/Tracking of Stolen Property/Arrest: On Aug. 20, the victim contacted police to report a theft that occurred on Aug. 1 in the 4500 block of 34th Avenue Court NW. The woman said several pieces of jewelry, estimated at $22,000 total, were stolen from her house. She also said $250 in cash was also missing from her wallet. The woman said she hired her 40-year-old daughter from Bonney Lake to clean her house. On Aug. 22, police discovered that the daughter pawned off some of the jewelry in Federal Way for $1,340. The woman was arrested for second-degree possession of stolen property and second-degree trafficking of stolen property. The remaining amount of jewelry is unknown.

Vehicle Prowl: On Aug. 21, a boater was awoken by a unknown male suspect who tried to enter the boat at . The boater said the suspect ran off with some other young males.

Vandalism: On Aug. 21, police were dispatched to a home in the 7500 block of North Creek Loop NW in reference to a vandalism report. An unknown suspect(s) painted profanity on the garage and drew a phallic symbol next to it. Prior to the incident, the victim's neighbor said some kids rang the door bell and ran away. In the morning, the neighbor found mustard squirted over the driver's door.

Warrant/Arrest: On Aug. 22, police were dispatched to in reference to a female runaway pickup. Upon investigation, the girl's 17-year-old boyfriend was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant from Remann Hall.

DUI/Arrest: On Aug. 23, police arrested a 32-year-old man for DUI near State Route 16 Hwy westbound and Wollochet Drive NW.

Theft: On Aug. 23, police were dispatched to in reference to a theft in progress. Witness said two male subjects broke into The Seattle Times newspaper machine. One man pried off the locking device while the other man shielded the man from public view. They were able to remove coins from the machine before driving off in a light-colored jeep.

Found Property: On Aug. 23, police were dispatched to on a reported drug paraphernalia recovery. A housekeeper found a glass pipe and small baggie in the room. The woman who stayed in the room had paid in cash and was in the room with at least ten individuals throughout the night, according to hotel employees. The Inn received multiple complaints from other occupants. In the morning, the woman was told not to return.
