GHPD Blotter: Three DUI Arrests, Repeat Residential Burglary

DUI/Arrest: On Sept. 29, a citizen called police after witnessing a female driver falling asleep, running red lights and swerving toward oncoming traffic. Police located and arrested the 45-year-old driver in the 12800 block of Peacock Hill Avenue NW. According to records, the suspect was on probation for a prior DUI from two years ago.

Traffic Offense/Arrest: On Sept. 29, police cited a 20-year-old male driver for expired vehicle license, no proof of insurance and failure to transfer title within 45 daysin the 5100 block of Pt. Fosdick Drive NW.

DWLS/Arrest: On Sept. 29, police arrested a 65-year-old woman in the 7400 block of Pioneer Way for DWLS in the third degree for unpaid tickets.

DUI/Arrest: On Sept. 30, police arrested a 20-year-old woman for DUI near SR 16 Hwy and Burnham Drive NW. According to the report, the vehicle was swerving and speeding at almost 80 mph on the high way. Police also issued her an infraction for driving without a license.

Shoplifting: On Oct. 1, policed arrested a 40-year-old man for shoplifting at According to store security officers, the suspect took a Toblerone candy bar, beer, nuts, juice and coconut water and put them in his jacket pockets. He then went to the check stand to pay for other items he had selected. He did not remove the items from his pockets or attempt to pay for them. He had about $260 on person at the time of the arrest. He was trespassed from the store and was cited for third-degree theft.

Vehicle Prowl: On Sept. 30, police responded to a vehicle prowl at the Kimball Park and Ride. An unknown suspect(s) shattered the rear passenger window and took the CD player, about 20 CDs, road repair kit and brake control from the car.

Later that day, police were also dispatched to another car prowl at the same location. The suspect smashed the rear passenger window and took several items including the speaker box, amplifier, CDs, laptop and video games. The suspect also unhooked the car battery to disable the alarm system. Officials believe the same suspect(s) is responsible for breaking into the cars.

Residential Burglary: On Sept. 30, an unknown suspect(s) stole a lawnmower from a garage in the 11000 block of Burnham Drive NW.

Three days later, police responded to a burglary at the same home. The victim's 11-year-old son called police after he came home from school and found the house ransacked.

According to the muddy footprints in the bathtub, police believe the suspect(s) broke in through the bathroom window. The burglar(s) took two flatscreen TVs, two gaming consoles, jewelry and a computer. They also entered the garage where they left behind a cooler filled with metal items--silver and stainless steel cooking utensils.

DUI/Arrest: On Oct. 1, police arrested a 77-year-old woman for DUI in the 3800 block of Hunt Street NW.

DWLS/Arrest: On Oct. 2, police arrested an 18-year-old man for DWLS third degree in the 7000 block of 46th Avenue NW.

Warrant/Arrest: On Oct. 3, police arrested a 47-year-old man in the 9000 block of 40th Avenue NW for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

DWLS/Arrest: On Oct. 6, police arrested a 30-year-old man for DWLS third degree near SR 16 Hwy and Burnham Drive NW. They also issued an infraction for expired vehicle license and verbal warning for driving without an insurance.

Burglary: Sometime between Aug. 25 and Oct. 2, an unknown suspect(s) cut the padlock on the storage shed next to the at 6127 38th Avenue NW. They don't believe anything was taken.
