On May 4, crews arrived on the Key Peninsula to assist with a 100-yard brush fire on Olson Road. Crews used approximately 1,500 gallons of water and were able to extinguish the fire.

On May 5, a quart of oil was reported to have been spilled on the turn lane headed toward Hunt Street on Wollochet Drive. Crews blocked the turn lane and soaked up the oil with absorbent pads. They soaked the rest with dirt and were able to broom it off.

On May 5, a mother got out of her car to get her child from the car seat when the doors automatically locked. The child was in the car for roughly 10 minutes on a 75-degree day. Staff at the nearby school shielded the child from the sun using a tarp to create shade. Crews arrived and were able to gain access to the car using a screwdriver and a piece of wire to depress the door lock. The child was removed and did not sustain any injuries.

On May 7, Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One received multiple reports of house fire with smoke and flames visible in the 1700 block of Firgrove Place. Engines arrived on the scene and concluded that the house was vacant, and the fire was in the attached garage. Crews forced the front door open and were met by a thick wall of black smoke. Two vent holes were created in the roof and crews were able to make entry into the home to attack the fire. Once the fire was extinguished, the Pierce County Fire Marshal began the investigation into possible cause.

On May 9, a man woke up from his sleep when his nose began to bleed. He attempted to curb the bleeding by pinching his nose. Crews arrived and were able to apply more pressure to his nose to control the bleeding. The man had visited the fire department for a blood pressure check that day and noticed it was higher than normal. He was transported to a local hospital for further examination.
