Aug. 26
Carbon Monoxide Alarm: Construction workers using a gas powered circular saw inside a business triggered the CO alarm. The workers evacuated, and the levels of CO were monitored by Firefighters every 10-20 minutes after placing 3 large fans to ventilate the area which were lowered to a safe reading in about 90 minutes. The contractor agreed to not use the saw inside the building, and to continue using the fans to further ventilate.

Aug.27
Multiple Car Collision: Multiple cars were involved in a collision on Highway 16 just after 3pm near the Haven of Rest – the cause of the accident is under investigation and two patients were transported to a nearby hospital for continued treatment of rib, back and hip pain.

Power Pole Sheared: A tractor making a turn onto 24th from Cromwell impacted a power pole shearing the wires and pole. It came down onto the tractor by way of the cable/phone wires and sat on top of the trailer. No loss of power was reported and Peninsula Light was contacted. The driver was uninjured.

Aug. 28
Vehicle in Ditch: An abandoned vehicle was discovered at 4am in a ditch on Whitmore Drive, but no driver was found in the car. A thermal imaging tool was then used to search the nearby woods and creek. PC Sherriff was at the scene and will continue its investigation to locate the driver.

Commercial Fire: Flames from a debris pile at the Purdy Transfer Station were caused by a spark by crushing a fiberglass boat containing about 20 gallons of fuel in its aluminum tank. The debris pile was extinguished and overhaul continued until the smoke dissipated.

Dryer Fire: Smoke from a clothes dryer in an apartment on Olympic Drive sent crews to investigate. The occupant turned off the dryer and the smoke stopped. A thermal imaging device was then used to confirm no fire extension into the walls. The occupant unplugged the dryer and will seek a technician to service before using it again.

Aug. 29
Finger Amputation: A construction worker accidently amputated his finger while at a jobsite. He was taken to a hospital in Seattle to continue care.

Aug. 30
