On July 5, a caregiver called 911 when her patient lost her balance and fell. Crews arrived to find she had a 5-inch skin tear on the back of her arm and a 1-inch hematoma on the back of her head. Despite the injuries, she did not complain of any pain. Crews tested her motor function, bandaged the skin tear and transported to a hospital for further treatment.

On July 6, crews responded to reports of an unconscious person. A man was having lunch with his wife when he suddenly slumped over in his chair and stopped responding for 30 seconds. Once awake, he could not recall the event and felt fine. During an exam with crews, he slumped over again, becoming unresponsive for another 30 seconds. After becoming alert, he was not aware he had lost consciousness. He was transported for further treatment.

On July 8, a man called 911 to report a large amount of smoke in the area. Crews arrived to find that a homeowner was burning natural vegetation and wood, and his burn pile was within legal limits.

On July 9, a man began having tremors on his left side coupled with garbled speech. When crews arrived, he was able to answer yes or no questions but unable to speak clearly. He was transported for further evaluation.

On July 10, a woman and her husband were driving when another car lost control and began to slide, crashing into the front of their car. The couple’s car then turned right and hit a sign. Crews arrived to find that the woman had trauma to her left arm and hand and complained of minor neck pain. Crews splinted her arm and transported to a hospital for further treatment.

On July 10, a man was working on his roof when he lost his footing and slid 8 feet down the roof, then 8 feet onto the ground. He landed on his feet and rolled to his side. Crews found that his left ankle had an obvious deformity, possibly a dislocation or fracture, but was not hurt anywhere else. They applied a splint to his ankle and transported him to a hospital.

On July 11, staff at a nursing home became concerned when a woman had a period of memory loss. When crews arrived the woman stated she was feeling light headed, but that it’s normal for her to become forgetful so she did not wish to be transported. Crews did an evaluation of her, and she was found to be in good health so no transport was needed.
