Gig Harbor Police Blotter: Aug. 23

The following arrest information was supplied by the Gig Harbor Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary: On July 29, police were dispatched to a possible attempt burglary and vandalism at . Sometime between July 26 and 29, an unknown suspect(s) entered the crawl space of the conference/counseling building. The crooks cut and removed several electrical wiring that included copper. The church's three doors and chimney were also damaged.

Residential Burglary: On Aug. 2, an unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's unlocked garage in the 4500 block of 35th Avenue NW and stole some power tools.

DUI/Reckless Driving/Arrest: On Aug. 10, police stopped a 25-year-old male driver in the 3300 block of 56th Street NW for driving recklessly. Ultimately, the driver was arrested for DUI.

Burglary: On Aug. 11, police were dispatched to , 4000 Rosedale St., in reference to a burglary. An unknown suspect(s) cut the lock to the historic barn and took several items including an antique Nash Radiator, brass bicycle pump and other metal items to sell as scrap. The suspect(s) also broke into the wine cellar and garage but did not take anything.

Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance/Arrest: On Aug. 11, police stopped the 19-year-old man for driving without his headlights on near Judson Street and Soundview Drive. Upon contact, the officer smelled marijuana from the car. The driver was arrested for carrying about 5.7 grams of marijuana.

Shoplifting/Arrest: On Aug. 11, police were dispatched to , 5010 Pt. Fosdick Dr. NW, in reference to a shoplifting. According to the security officers, they saw the 28-year-old woman place several items in her purse. She then paid for a couple of candy bars and left the store. The woman was arrested for third-degree theft.

Trespassing/Disorderly/Unlawful Bus Conduct/Arrest: On Aug. 11, police were dispatched to a panhandler at, 5500 Olympic Dr. When they arrived, the 34-year-old male suspect was walking toward the exit of Olympic Village. Employees told police that earlier he was yelling and refusing to leave. When police located the man, he was intoxicated. According to witnesses, the suspect was trying to get people to buy him beer since he did not have his ID with him. Police cited the man for disorderly conduct and second-degree trespassing. They also noted that the man was arrested several times in the past in Gig Harbor.

Theft/Arrest: On Aug. 12, police responded to a report of theft at , 11430 51st Ave. According to several workers, the 20-year-old female suspect went through purses of two employees and took prescription medication Adderall. The incident was captured on the store security camera. The woman was arrested for third-degree theft.

Vandalism: On Aug. 12, an unknown suspect(s) sprayed graffiti on the side of at 7400 Pioneer Way. Police also said , located across the street, was also vandalized with graffiti.

Vehicle Prowl: On Aug 12, police were dispatched to a vehicle prowl at Northview Terrace Apartments, 7400 38th Ave. According to the report, an unknown suspect(s) pried open the gas tank door and stole about 7 gallons of gasoline.

Theft of Watercraft: On Aug. 13, an unknown suspect(s) stole a boat that was tied to the dock at , 3901 Harborview Dr.

Motor Vehicle Theft: On Aug. 14 an unknown suspect(s) pried the driver's door lock and tried to steal the vehicle by damaging the ignition at the parking lot, 5120 Borgen Boulevard.

Motor Vehicle Theft: On Aug. 14, an unknown suspect(s) stole a 1999 maroon Ford Escort from the parking lot of , 11330 51st Ave. The victim said the car was unlocked, and the keys were in the glove box.
