Gig Harbor Police Blotter: May 9

The Gig Harbor Police Department arrested a man after they found a glass pipe and some marijuana in his car.

Found Property: A resident in the 3600 block of Vernhardson Street contacted the police after she found a pair of lopping shears in the ditch in front of her home on April 18.

Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance/Arrest: On April 27, police arrested a 22-year-old man in the parking lot of , 11330 51st Ave., after they caught him with a glass pipe and 2.2 grams of marijuana. He was released at the scene.

Warrant/Arrest: On April 27, the police arrested a 18-year-old man for failing to appear in drug court. They were notified by the while he was there for another unrelated court hearing.

Vandalism: On April 27, a woman living in the  8400 block of Bayridge Avenue contacted the police after her car's windshield wiper and blade was bent upward.

Operating Motor Vehicle Without Ignition Interlock/DWLS/Arrest: On April 27, a 42-year-old man in the 4900 block of Point Fosdick Drive was cited for driving with a suspended license in the first degree and without an ignition interlock device.

Vehicle Prowl/Vandalism: On April 26, a Century Link employee in the 8100 block of Skansie Avenue contacted the police after an unknown suspect(s) smashed the side window of the company truck and took a digital measuring instrument.

Theft/Felony: On April 26, a worker, at 10990 Harbor Hill Drive, contacted the police after an unknown suspect(s) took the victim's purse from an unlocked employee locker.

Motor Vehicle Theft: On April 25, a man living in the Stinson Avenue Apartments, 7314 Stinson Ave., contacted police after his 1996 green Honda Accord was missing.

Burglary: Sometime between April 23 and 24, an unknown suspect(s) entered the St. John's Thrift Store. The workers noticed the cash register was on the ground and the wooden table had a broken leg. No money was stolen.

Traffic Offense Arrest: On April 25, a 37-year-old woman was cited in the 4100 block of Harborview Drive for failing to transfer her car title within 45 days of purchase and failing to provide a proof of insurance.

Traffic Offense DWLS Arrest: On April 25, a 41-year-old man was arrested near Wollochet Drive NW and Pioneer Way for driving while license suspended in the third degree and operating a motor vehicle without a required ignition interlock. He was also cited for failing to provide a proof of insurance. He was released at the scene. As the officer was returning to the patrol car, the man drove out onto the ramp. He was pulled over again and told not to drive.

Shoplifting Arrest: On April 24, the manager of at 4831 Point Fosdick Dr. NW called the police after a man walked out with a basket full of food without paying. The officers were able to identify the suspect and his car from the surveillance videos. The next day, the police contacted the suspect in the 11000 block of Vipond Drive. The 18-year-old man admitted to taking three boxes of cereal and a gallon of Arizona iced tea. The officer issued a citation for theft third degree.

Burglary/Theft: Sometime between April 22 and 23, an unknown suspect(s) broke into at 4902 Point Fosdick Dr. NW and stole $750. The manager did not know if the thief took any merchandise.
