Gig Harbor Police Blotter: Missing Motor Batteries, Car Stolen From Park and Ride

Theft of Vehicle Part: On Sept. 15, police responded to at 3302 Hunt St. for a theft. Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect(s) stole four 6-volt batteries from a manlift that was parked in front of the business.

Vehicle Prowl: On Sept. 15, police responded to a vehicle prowl in the 6400 block of 43rd Avenue NW. An unknown suspect(s) broke into a work truck during the night and took two batteries from the car. The victim also said several bungee cords were missing.

Warrant/Arrest: On Sept. 15, police arrested a 22-year-old man for two outstanding warrants. The suspect was caught at , 7102 Stinson Ave. The suspect had a felony Department of Corrections escape and a hit and run misdemeanor warrant.

Motor Vehicle Theft: On Sept. 15, police were dispatched to a vehicle theft at the Kimball Park and Ride. The victim told police she parked and locked her 1997 Honda Accord at 4 a.m. and when she returned at 3 p.m., the car was gone. Police believe the vehicle theft could be connected to two other incidents. In the past few weeks, another Honda Accord was stolen from Bremerton and was recovered at the Park and Ride in Purdy. Another Honda Accord was stolen from that Park and Ride and later recovered at the Kimball Park and Ride.

Shoplifting: On Sept. 17, police were dispatched to a shoplifter in custody at . Its security guards told police they saw the 48-year-old male suspect take two packs of Duracell batteries and concealed the batteries in his pocket. He then went to the candy aisle where he took three packages of candy and left the store without paying. He was arrested for third-degree theft.
