Gig Harbor Police Log: Shoplifter Steals Two Bronze Ducks From Downtown Store

Warrant/DV/Arrest: On Jan. 21, police arrested a 27-year-old man for a domestic violent assault warrant at St. Anthony Hospital.
Theft/Arrest: On Jan. 21, police arrested a 66-year-old man for theft at Blue Agave Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar. One employee told police that after the man ate his meal and margarita for $33, he said he left his wallet at the hospital. He said he would return later to pay. He then left the restaurant and threw a metal chair at the window. The man was later located at St. Anthony Hospital, where he was cited for theft.

DWLS/Arrest: On Jan. 25, police arrested a 47-year-old man for third-degree DWLS near Olympic Drive NW and State Route 16 eastbound. The driver was also issued an infraction for no proof of insurance and failure to carry registration.
Warrant/Arrest: On Jan. 25, police arrested a 51-year-old man for second-degree criminal trespass in the 7200 block of Soundview Drive.

Shoplifting: On Jan. 25, police responded to a shoplifting call at Imagine Great Things. An unknown suspect(s) stole two bronze duck figurines that were valued at $250.
DWLS/Arrest: On Jan. 25, police arrested a 17-year-old woman for third-degree DWLS in the 8700 block of Skansie Avenue NW. The driver was also issued an infraction for speeding. The police clocked the driver traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Traffic Offense/Arrest: On Jan. 26, a 39-year-old man was cited for failure to transfer title in the 200 block of Key Peninsula Highway S near Lakebay.
Traffic Offense/Arrest: On Jan. 26, a 27-year-old woman was cited for failure to transfer title in the 8500 block of State Route 16 westbound.
Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance/Arrest: On Jan. 26, police stopped a 17-year-old man for speeding in the 7100 block of Soundview Drive. Upon contacting the driver, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The driver was arrested for unlawful possession of controlled substance.
