Gig Harbor Police Log: Woman Arrested for Meth Possession, Identity Theft

DWLS/Arrest: On Jan. 29, police arrested a 65-year-old woman for third-degree DWLS for unpaid tickets near Borgen Boulevard and Harbor Hill Drive.

Burglary: Sometime between Feb. 1 and 4, an unknown suspect(s) broke into a work trailer at a well drilling site in the 8700 block of Skansie Avenue and stole two Honda pumps and other tools.

Agency Assist/Arrest: On Feb. 2, Gig Harbor Police assisted a Kitsap County deputy in arresting a 58-year-old man at Maritime Inn for violation of a no contact domestic violence order.

Vehicle Prowl: On Feb. 1, an unknown suspect(s) broke out the front passenger window at Gig Harbor Family YMCA and took a green bag that contained some children clothing.

Non-injury Hit and Run/Arrest: On Feb. 2, police were dispatched to a non-injury hit and run incident at Fred Meyer. A witness told police that a male driver backed into the victim's car and damaged the tail light. The witness reported the driver's license plate. Police later arrested a 68-year-old man for hitting a parked car and leaving.

Theft/Arrest: On Feb. 5, police were dispatched to Wells Fargo Bank for a man who was refusing to pay his cab fare of $50. According to the police report, the 66-year-old man, who appeared homeless, was arrested for third-degree theft. 

Identity Theft/Possession of Stolen Property/Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance/Arrest: On Feb. 5, a man contacted police regarding his girlfriend using his credit card fraudulently. Upon investigation, authorities located the woman and a 32-year-old man at Best Western Plus Wesley Inn & Suites. Inside the room, police found some methamphetamine, which officials believe the two suspects were using prior to the arrest, and a blank check that belonged to the boyfriend. The 38-year-old woman was arrested for unlawful possession of controlled substance and five counts of identity theft. The man was arrested for unlawful possession of controlled substance and second-degree possession of stolen property second degree.

Mental Health/Trespass Notification: On Feb. 6, police were dispatched to an unwanted man inside Panera Bread. Upon arrival, they found the 32-year-old man sleeping in one of the corner booths. The man had been trespassed from the restaurant in November 2012. He was transported to Response Recovery Center in Fife.

Unlawful Procurement of Prescription Drugs/Arrest: On Feb. 6, police arrested a 51-year-old man who had presented a forged prescription for Oxycodone at Bartell Drugs. A Port Orchard Police officer said the man attempted a similar act earlier in the day at the Port Orchard Rite Aid and at least two other prescription forgeries in Kitsap County the day before.
