Law Enforcement Rallies for Triple OT Win Over Gig Harbor Firefighters

The law enforcement officers won Saturday's flag football game, which was organized by the Gig Harbor Firefighters' Association.

The law enforcement team defeated the firefighters of  in a close match on Saturday.

After a third overtime, the law enforcement, made up of , , Washington State Patrol and Federal Way Police, came out on top with a final score of 38-37. 

The flag football game at Ron Anderson Field was organized by the Gig Harbor Firefighters' Association to raise money for the 9/11 Memorial Garden. The memorial is set to be built in front of Station 51 on Kimball Drive.

“Our community received a ,” said firefighter Patrick Phillips. “The Gig Harbor Firefighters’ Association is in the process of designing a Memorial to honor those who gave their lives on 9/11/2001 along with honoring their Families.”

The Memorial will include two seating areas: The first seating area will include a timeline of events and a history of 9/11/2001; the second seating area will include the 900-pound piece of steel.
