Kids Go Shopping With Law Enforcement Officers

With the help of local law enforcement officers, seven kids from the community got to go holiday shopping at Target.

Seven local children got to participate in the seventh annual Holiday Helpers on Dec. 6, where kids got to go shopping at with local law enforcement officers.

The event was part of the Jaycox Gig Harbor Police Benevolent Fund, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, which raises money through community events and at .

The participating agencies included , and Washington State Patrol. Soroptimist International of Gig Harbor also helped the kids wrap the presents at the end.

Children between the ages of 7 and 11 are chosen based on social and economic need, according to press release.

Each kid were given $300 from the organization and additional $20 from Target.

After their shopping spree, they got to tour the police department and eat lunch with their shopping buddies.
