Local Woman Named Communications Officer of the Year

The Washington State Patrol has named Gig Harbor's Jennifer Heater as the Communications Officer of the Year for the Tacoma area.

The Washington State Patrol has named Communications Officer 1 Jennifer Heater of Gig Harbor as the District 1 (Tacoma) Communications Officer of the Year.

Heater works at the Communications Center, which serves Pierce and Thurston County.

“Jenn consistently provides outstanding customer service to emergency 9-1-1 callers and calls received on administrative business lines as well as Troopers on the air. She consistently goes the extra mile providing assistance when needed. Jenn is an asset and valued team member of District 1 Communications and is dedicated to her career and the citizens of the State of Washington,” said WSP Communications Manager Laurie Langlois.

Heater began her career in law enforcement as a Communications Officer with the State Patrol in September 2005.
