Motorcyclist Who Died In State Route 302 Crash Identified

Jacob Daniel Converse of Gig Harbor, 21, died when an SUV struck his motorcycle late Saturday night.

Authorities have identified the 21-year-old man from Gig Harbor who died when a car struck his motorcycle late Saturday on State Route 302.

The Washington State Patrol identified the man as Jacob Daniel Converse.

Converse was traveling south about 11 p.m., when a small SUV driven by a 43-year-old Gig Harbor man was headed in the opposite direction, just north of 144th Street Northwest.

The car attempted to turn left and collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of the SUV wasn’t injured. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drugs may have been involved, and charges could be pending.
