People across the country are stunned following a midnight shooting of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, CO. Police have arrested a suspect, James Holmes, 24, who witnesses say was firing randomly at people. Twelve people are confirmed dead.

Twelve people are confirmed dead following a mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, CO, during a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises."

Dozens of other people were injured in the shooting, including a 3-month-old, according to CNN.

A suspected shooter, James Holmes, is in police custody. The 24-year-old told police that he also had explosives in his apartment. CNN is reporting that authorities are searching his apartment, and they have confirmed that it is "booby trapped."

Authorities say he carried at least one assault rifle and two handguns, and witnesses also reported that he used teargas before he started firing.
