Santa, Mrs. Claus Visit Key Peninsula via Fire Truck

Patch reader Devon Liles shares photos of Santa and Mrs. Claus as they make their way through Key Peninsula with the Key Peninsula Fire Department.

Patch reader and Key Peninsula resident Devon Liles sent these photos to Patch on Wednesday:

"The Key Peninsula firefighters brought a very special guest to our neighborhoods around the Key Peninsula during December. Santa has been visiting our neighborhoods with Mrs. Claus and his sleigh escorted by a Key Peninsula Fire Department fire truck.

I joined up with Mr. and Mrs. Claus on the 16th during the Lake of the Woods Route and I asked them where Rudolf and the rest of the gang was?

Mr. Claus gave a big belly laugh, “HO HO HO” and exclaimed that “They were back home at the North Pole resting up for the big night, and I asked my good friends at the KPFD #16 to pull our sleigh so Mrs. Claus and I could get out and see our favorite little ones on the KP and make certain that we get all of their present requests before the big night."

With another deep laugh he exclaimed, “Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all” as they sped off in their gleaming Sleigh of Joy.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus are not done yet. They will be returning with the KPFD at the Key Peninsula Civic Center for Skate Night and visiting the Vaughn area on Dec. 21 between 5:20 p.m. and 8 p.m. They will also be visiting Lake Holiday on Dec. 22. Click here for the full schedule.

Here's the schedule for Gig Harbor Fire Department's Santa.

The boat is heading toward the Tacoma side of the bridge. Gig Harbor is well astern. If the tideRead More is going out, and the boat maintains its heading, it will wind up at Sunset Beach off to the left of the picture.

Ugh. That's not good, Starla. How many times a week do you and husband cross, or at least try toRead More cross that crosswalk.

I have seen orange flags (like the kind you use on the boat with a water skier) used at crosswalksRead More in Redmond. Perhaps putting a PVC pipe in the ground on either side of the road or attached to the nearby sign posts with a few flags inside for you to hold out/carry to the other side when you're crossing would be helpful?
Starla Storset June 15, 2013 at 11:10 am
Brent, we cross it about at least once a week.
