A Longtime Fan, Derek Kilmer Now Will Use 'Star Wars' to Raise Political Money

The Congressman from Gig Harbor is scheduled to hold two "Star Wars"-themed fundraisers and a "galactic trivia battle," reports The Center for Public Integrity.

Already a huge fan of "Star Wars," first-term Congressman Derek Kilmer is reportedly using his love of the science fiction film franchise to earn him some political money.

The Center for Public Integrity did a story about how the Washington Democrat is scheduled to hold two "Star Wars"-themed fundraisers this month:

The merged fundraiser will culminate May 22 in a "galactic trivia battle," with tickets starting at $50 and climbing skyward to $1,000 for political action committees and full trivia teams, according to an invitation. The National Cable and Telecommunications Association's Washington, D.C., headquarters will play host.
