The City of Gig Harbor’s Operations crew has been working with Pierce County Maintenance crews all morning on Thursday to clean up what appears to be latex paint that has been spilled along sections of Burnham Drive (near Woodhill Drive), 112th Street and Sehmel Drive.
According to GigHarborGuide.com's Facebook page, dozens of paint cans were dropped along the roadways, where some of the cans opened and crushed.
While the paint was spread across both City and County roadways in this area, the spill mostly affected the Pierce County’s roadways.
The City is performing the cleanup with the placement of sand and removal with the vactor truck. All spoils will be taken to an approved disposal site. Officials expect to complete the cleanup before the end of the day.
It is unknown whether this incident was an accident or intentional.
