UPDATE: Former Gig Harbor Police Chief in Line to Succeed Karlinsey as City Administrator

According to Gig Harbor officials, the city has not officially hired former Gig Harbor Police Chief Denny Richards to replace City Administrator Rob Karlinsey. Richards is currently the city manager in Kelso, Washington.

UPDATE: The City of Gig Harbor said Wednesday it has not hired Richards, and Gig Harbor City Council will be discussing the matter on Monday, March 5, at its special meeting at 5:30 p.m.

The has hired former Gig Harbor Police Chief Denny Richards as its new city administrator, according to TDN.com.

Richards, who served as the police chief in Gig Harbor from 1987 to 1995, has been working as the city manager for the City of Kelso since 2008.

Although he has not officially signed a contract with Gig Harbor, his resignation was confirmed at the Kelso City Council's special meeting on Tuesday.

Richards, 68, still has a home in Gig Harbor where he lives with his wife on the weekends.

Mayor Chuck Hunter announced . Karlinsey’s last day with the City of Gig Harbor will be on or near April 9.
