Gig Harbor and the Kitsap Peninsula have a new state senator.
The Kitsap Sun is reporting that the Pierce County Council and Kitsap County Commision voted to appoint Gig Harbor's Nathan Schlicher to the 26th Legislative District Senate seat, which became vacant when Derek Kilmer ran and won a seat in Congress.
Schlicher, who was recommended to fill the vacancy by a 26th District Democratic committee last month, will serve out the rest of the year. In November, voters will decide who will serve the final year of Kilmer's term.
What do you think Gig Harbor? Are you happy with the appointment of Schlicher? Tell us in the comments.
