The Gig Harbor Pierce County Library was the state's fourth-busiest in 2011, beating out branches in bigger cities like Federal Way, Kent and Vancouver.
A list of Washington's 30 busiest libraries by circulation volume was recently compiled by The Washington List Guy, aka Steve Campion.
Campion said he gathered statistics on the number of items checked out at 349 libraries around the state to come up with the ranking, which put the Gig Harbor library in the No. 11 position with a circulation of 927,487 items.
There are 18 libraries available in Pierce County. According to the Pierce County Library System website, it lent out more than 8.5 million items in 2011.
