Rep. Angel Named ‘Outstanding Legislator’ by State Sewer/Water Association

Rep. Jan Angel was selected for her support of water and sewer legislation during the 2011 legislative session.

Rep. Jan Angel, R-Port Orchard, has been named “Outstanding Legislator for 2011” by the Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts (WASWD).

Angel, who serves as ranking Republican of the House Local Government Committee, was recognized by the WASWD for her support of water and sewer legislation during the 2011 legislative session.

The WASWD Section 2 covers a 13 county area south and west of King County down to Oregon.

“All our districts appreciated Rep. Angel’s continued efforts to help resolve issues and partner with us on important legislation,” said 2011 Chair and Silverdale Water District Commissioner Marcus Hoffman.

Association members recognized Angel for her support of House Bills 1074 and 1075; legislation that would provide more rights and reduces restrictions on water districts.

Angel said she is honored to receive an award for helping our state with such important infrastructure issues. The 26th District legislator added that she plans to continue working with the association to ensure clean, safe drinking water and innovative new technologies in sewer systems.

WASWD is made up of sewer, water, and combined water/sewer district across the state of Washington.
