Special Caucus Set on Dec. 27 to Fill Senatorial Vacancy

The Precinct Committee Officers of the 26th Legislative District Democrats are expected to select three nominees to fill former State Sen. Derek Kilmer's seat.

There will be a special meeting on Thursday, Dec. 27, in Port Orchard to select three potential candidates to replace former Sen. Derek Kilmer’s seat in the State Senate.

Kilmer, who won the 6th Congressional District race in November, resigned from his Senate seat earlier this month.

Dwight Pelz, Chair of the Washington State Democrats, has called the elected Precinct Committee Officers of the 26th Legislative District Democrats to a special meeting on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting will be to select three nominees for appointment to fill the Washington State Senate seat recently vacated by Congressman-elect Derek Kilmer.

Members of the public are invited to attend, but only duly elected or appointed 26th Legislative District PCOs may vote in these proceedings.
