SR 16 to Close for Tacoma Narrows Bridge Inspections

WSDOT bridge crews inspect every state highway bridge every two years.

Washington State Department of Transportation's regularly-scheduled bridge inspection will start next week on the westbound State Route 16 Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Tacoma.

Each day from Monday, July 29, through Thursday, Aug. 1, WSDOT bridge inspection crews will close one westbound SR 16 lane across the 1950 Tacoma Narrows Bridge between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Because the lane closure will occur in the non-peak travel direction, motorists should experience only minimal delays. Three westbound lanes will remain open.
