Two Public Hearings Scheduled for Pierce County Shoreline Master Program

The two meetings will be held at Peninsula High School on July 25 and Aug. 1.

The Pierce County Planning Commission will be hosting a series of public hearings for the Pierce County Shoreline Master Program (SMP) update.

There will be two meetings in Gig Harbor at on Wednesday, July 25 and Aug. 1. They will both start at 6:30 p.m.

The Shoreline Master Program applies to new actions on Puget Sound, lakes over 20 acres in size, and the major rivers and creeks in unincorporated Pierce County. It also applies to the area approximately 200 feet landward of those waters and to any wetlands that are associated with those areas identified in this paragraph.

If you’re not able to attend the meeting, submit your comments to the Pierce County Planning Commission, 2401 South 35th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409, or email comments to tfairba@co.pierce.wa.us.
