Misleading Information from ????

An Open Letter to Jon Manley, Gateway Newspaper
Good morning Mr. Manley;
   You had an interesting article in the Gateway this morning.  Most interesting that you chose not to talk to anyone from the Citizens Group.  Of course, you know we would just give you quotes the city has made on this proposed amendment.  Just cause you didn't bother to ask, our signed petition is now about 1,500 signatures.
   Let's do a little fact checking.....
    We are just wondering why you chose not to ask Council member, Michael Perrow just how much money his building family stood to make if this amendment is accepted?
   We are wondering why you did not question him on those view corridors all the council loves to mention when "trees planted in the view corridor could block views" direct quote by Jennifer Kester, Planning Director at the Gig Harbor City Council meeting on July 8th.
   "..the City Council will be allowing larger developers to enter into a development agreement to allow for more gross floor area, etc."  "commissioners discussed building size and using an incentive process for increased size and/or height" direct quote February 7, Planning Commission meeting.
 "Any approved development standards that differ from those in the code shall not require any further rezone, variance".  direct quote from GH City Code 19.08
   "And, in fact, in the downtown, in many cases this would enhance the view" direct quote from Councilmember Perrow.  Did you think to ask in what case would this be?
   You've been sent all these quotes made by the city and in the public record.  Where did your investigative reporting go?
    Could it be the misleading information is coming from the well intentioned, buy misguided council members and NOT the Citizens4GFWaterfront?

Whatever you think, October 14 is a big night for the Gig Harbor City Countil. Residents and non residents get to make a 3 minute public comment during the council meeting beginning at 5:30.
  Your opportunity to be heard and to help save Gig Harbor Waterfront.  It is all in YOUR hands.
