A Novel Idea: Taking a Vacation Where You Live, Here in Gig Harbor!

Ok, I know the whole draw of a vacation is to go somewhere else. To boldly go where you've never been before. And I understand that. If I had my choices, and unlimited funds, I would travel the world, no question about it! 

But right now, with my job(s) and funds are NOT unlimited, especially when it comes to gas money, I have to be creative and brainstorm ideas when it comes to mini vacations. The other day I was thinking, you know we live in "paradise" why not pretend we are visitors and just enjoy Gig Harbor as if we were vacationers and wound up here, to see it with those eyes! 

There are many venues to enjoy! 

We could rent a kayak or boat and cruise around. We could go get a massage or enjoy a spa. We could even stay at a bed and breakfast if we want. Not to mention all the awesome restaurants to choose from. We could go on a day trip to the coast or "tour" the Kitsap peninsula again...I think so many times we take for granted what is in our backyard. 

I'm so thankful to live in vacationland! Back in the 50s when the ferry system just started, Washington state was touted as "Vacationland". And right they are. Washington is a microcosm of the whole united states. We got it all. We are so blessed. BUT someday I wanna go to Hawaii...
