Gig Harbor’s Midday Rotary Club has named Linny Tan as its April, 2012 Student of the Month.
A senior at Tan maintains a 3.9 GPA and has been actively involved in the Interact Club for the last two years.
Throughout the last two years, Tan has taken on leadership roles as Gig Harbor Tidefest Coordinator and Design Coordinator for the Interact booth. Tan is also involved in numerous fun runs that the Interact Club has volunteered in, along with working at other fundraisers.
Tan has participated in Chinese Club, photography club and the National Honor Society for the last three years.
Additionally, she has been playing the piano for 12 years and has received the Music Study Award and the Honors Program Award.
Tan and her parents have been invited to a Rotary-hosted luncheon to recognize her achievement and to present her a certificate of achievement.
