December Student of the Month: Tawnee Guinn

The Gig Harbor High School student is the President of both the Teens against Tobacco Use and Students Against Destructive Decisions Club.

Gig Harbor’s Midday Rotary Club has named Tawnee Guinn as its December, 2012 Student of the Month.

A senior at Gig Harbor High School, Guinn maintains a 3.8 Grade point average. She is the President of both the Teens against Tobacco Use and Students Against Destructive Decisions Club.

Guinn and her club give anti-tobacco presentations to middle school students. She is also involved in Interact, is a Math Tutor at Discovery elementary and is actively involved in writing Prom Letters, as well as bringing awareness to Teen suicide prevention week.

This past fall, Guinn was heavily involved with raising funds and collecting food for those in need with the Basket Brigade, as this was her Senior Project. When she is not in school, she is volunteering three days a week at Harbor Urgent Care MultiCare center in Uptown.

Guinn is trying to gain as much experience as she can as she aspires to be an E.R. Nurse.
