Gig Harbor Seniors Fill Hallway With 12,000 Balloons

The Gig Harbor High School seniors filled the entire downstairs with 12,000 blue balloons Wednesday night.

Thursday, June 13, marked the last day of high school for the Gig Harbor seniors.

But before sailing off to the next chapter of their lives, they had one more trick up their sleeves.

When students, teachers and staff arrived at the school Thursday morning, they walked into a sea of balloons!

The senior class of 2013 apparently filled the entire downstairs of the school with thousands of balloons Wednesday night.

A source told Patch that it took more than 7 hours to inflate 12,0000 with 7 air compressors on Wednesday night.

As for the clean up, most of the balloons were popped by janitors while the students designated two rooms as having a "no-pop policy."

The Gig Harbor seniors will graduate on Sunday, June 16, at Tacoma Dome at 3 p.m.
