Key Peninsula Student Wins Puyallup Fair Art Show

Key Peninsula Middle School's Annabelle Murdoch won Best in Show for her work titled, "Darkest Angel"

The 25th annual Junior/Senior High School Art Show at the Puyallup Fair had another successful year with artwork submitted by students from 40 local schools.

The Best in Show blue ribbon winners included Key Peninsula Middle School's Annabelle Murdoch. She submitted her work titled, "Darkest Angel".

The show received hundreds of entries in a multitude of mediums, including drawings, photography, paintings in acrylic, oil, and watercolor, as well as sculptures and unique mixed media pieces.

The Junior/Senior High School Art Show encourages young artists to expand their creativity and become confident in their art by displaying their work for audiences to enjoy.

This year’s Fair visitors were invited to view the show and vote for their favorite piece through Sept. 23. This year’s entries were awarded ribbons for Jurors’ Choice, Jurors’ Choice Photography, People’s Choice of the Day, Over-All People’s Choice, Most Patriotic, and Honorable Mention. There was also $2,000 worth of cash prizes and ribbons awarded for Best in Show.
