Peninsula School Board President Jill Uddenberg Resigns

After serving seven years on the Board, President Jill Uddenberg said she will step down due to short-term relocation. Her resignation is effective today.

The Peninsula School District issued the following press release on Thursday:

The Board of Directors received President Jill Uddenberg’s resignation as a Peninsula School District Board of Director, effective today, Sept. 20, 2012.

Uddenberg stated the following in her resignation letter:

“It is with great sadness that I submit my resignation as a Peninsula School District Board Director. The reason for my resignation is due solely to a short-term relocation out of state. While I will be out of the state for one year, I expect to return for the 2013-2014 school year and will be actively involved with the Peninsula School District.

I have enjoyed my seven years on the Board of Directors and know that the District is in a better place today than it was when I started. I also know that the District is in capable hands with the existing Directors and leadership throughout the District. This is a great school district and I am proud to have served.”

The Board of Directors will take official action on Uddenberg’s resignation at the Oct.11, 2012, meeting.

The District will then solicit letters of intent from residents who are interested in filling the unexpired term representing District 4. A map of the school district boundaries is available at the district’s website: www.psd401.net.

Peninsula School District thanks Ms. Uddenberg for her leadership and commitment to students, staff and the community.
