Peninsula School District, Peninsula Light Co. to Partner for Junior Achievement Program

Peninsula Light Company and other sponsors have donated money to help Peninsula School District student travel to the Junior Achievement program facilities in Auburn.

Peninsula Light Company CEO Jafar Taghavi and President of the Board of Directors Nick Markovich will be presenting a check to Peninsula School District Superintendent Chuck Cuzzetto at the upcoming Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon.

The donations provided by Peninsula Light Company and other sponsors are used by the school district to support student transportation costs to the Junior Achievement program facilities at BizTown located in Auburn. 

BizTown is a fully interactive business town that features companies such as Puget Sound Energy, State Farm Insurance and Chase Bank. The facility allows local students to participate in real world business and community activities.

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in areas of workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential hands-on programs.

The luncheon on Thursday, March 14, will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Canterwood Golf and Country Club and is open to the public.
