Annual Turkey Trot Returns to Gig Harbor on Nov. 22

The annual pre-feast run will be held on Thanksgiving morning on Nov. 22. Registration is $15, plus 2 cans of food.

Justify that third helping this Thanksgiving by starting your day at the annual Turkey Trot 5K/10K in historic downtown Gig Harbor. The event on Thursday, Nov. 22, raises money and food items for Gig Harbor's FISH Food Bank.

The race is sponsored by Holmes Chiropractic, Gig Harbor North Rotary, Gig Harbor Family YMCA, Costco, Route 16 Running and St. Anthony Hospital.

The non-profit FISH Food Bank is an all-volunteer organization that helps families around the peninsula region.

Registration for the run, which begins at 8 a.m. at Skansie Brothers Park, is $15, plus 2 cans of food. Participants can register online by Monday, Nov. 19, on www.dr.timholmes.com.

T-shirts are ordered separately for $10 (long sleeve cotton) or $15 (short sleeve tech). Late registration is $30. T-shirts will not be guaranteed for day of race registration.

Pre-race number pickup is Wednesday, Nov. 21, at St. Anthony Hospital from noon – 6 p.m. You can also pick up your bib number on the day of the race. Make sure to arrive early.

The route for the 5K and 10K running races begins at Skansie Brothers Park and goes out Harborview, Vernhardson and then right along the East side of Gig Harbor.

Volunteers are also needed. If you are interested in helping, sponsoring or have additional questions contact Holmes Chiropractic at 253-858-5152.
