Bremerton Ice Center to present "Jungle Book on Ice"

Bremerton, Wash.— Area figure skaters will put a cool spin on a popular children’s classic when they perform “Jungle Book on Ice,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 and 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec 18 at Bremerton Ice Center.

For more than 40 years, children have delighted in “Jungle Book,” the Disney film based on the stories by Rudyard Kipling. This holiday season, local audiences can watch Mowgli, King Louie, Baloo, Shere Khan, Kaa, Bagheera, and other characters perform favorites from the popular soundtrack such as “The Bare Necessities,” “I Wan’na Be Like You,” “That’s What Friends Are For,” and “Colonel Hathi’s March”—on ice.

The show will feature the talents of 35 skaters ranging in age from three to 65. It will highlight 12 soloists, including regional medalists and participants in the US Junior Championships and Pacific Coast Sectionals, who will perform to songs inspired by the children’s classic. Featured soloists will be:
