High School Boys Lacrosse Falls to Klahowya

Klahowya’s fast start crush Gig Harbor in boys lacrosse

SILVERDALE – Chris McGuire netted 6 goals and Kevin Bastien added 4 goals as Klahowya jumped out to a 10 – 5 halftime lead en route to a 17 – 6 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Gig Harbor, Wednesday at Central Kitsap Junior High.  Jason Trost, Ryder Hartman and Nick Johansen all added 2 goals in the win.  Nate Ashton and Cody Olson led Gig Harbor scoring with 3 goals each.

Roessler’s 7 goals leads Tahoma past Lynnwood in boys lacrosse

LYNNWOOD – Mike Roessler scored a season-high 7 goals to lead Tahoma past Lynnwood 17 – 11  in inter-league boys high school lacrosse action, Wednesday at Lynnwood High School.  Tahoma jumped out to a 9 – 7 lead at the intermission before cruising to the win in the second half.  Justin Hanson had 10 saves in goal for Tahoma.  Cameron Girgus netted a goal and delivered 6 assists and 5 ground balls for Lynnwood.

Blanchet blanks Franklin in boys lacrosse

SEATTLE – Tyler Schmutz scored 5 goals and collected 4 ground balls to lead Blanchet to a 13 – 0 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Franklin, Wednesday at Franklin High School.  Franklin never found the net, as the Braves jumped out to a 7 – 0 lead at the half before cruising to the win. James Donaldson had a goal and 3 asssits and Adam Derr had 3 goals for Blanchet.  The Quakers’ Alexandrew Wong collected 5 ground balls and Deandre Tackett had 14 saves in goal.

Stanwood rolls past Everett in boys lacrosse

EVERETT – Connor Merritt scored 5 goals and Andrew Price netted 4 to lead Stanwood past Everett 15 – 5 in boys Division II high school lacrosse, Wednesday at Walter Hall Park in Everett.   Kyle Bennett added 3 goals an assist and 8 ground balls in the win.  Everett’s Jared Hawkins netted 2 goals and an assist and Merrick Rutledge made 18 saves in goal.

Hale stops Roosevelt in boys lacrosse

SEATTLE – Jack MacIntire scored 3 goals and Alex Wright netted a goal and 4 assists as Nathan Hale stopped rival Roosevelt 7 – 4 in boys Division II high school lacrosse action, Wednesday at Summit Fields in Seattle.  Aiden Iodice had 6 saves in goal for the Raiders.  Four different player scored for the Roughriders and Kevin Ault had 13 saves in goal in the loss.

Three Rivers downs Selah in boys lacrosse

RICHLAND – Drew Wade and Trent Wellner combined for 13 goals to lead Three Rivers to a 23 – 9 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Selah, Wednesday at Badger Mountain Park in Richland.  Behind Wade’s 8 goals and Wellner’s 5, Three Rivers jumped out to a 14 – 6 lead at the half before cruising to the win.  Danny Hart had 10 saves in goal for Three Rivers.  Selah’s Nick Frank netted 3 goals and Jared Grubenhoff had 15 saves in goal in the loss.

Highline pulls away in final minutes to edge Ballard in boys lacrosse

BURIEN – Caleb Simpson beat Ballard’s Nick Onstad-Hawes for the go-ahead goal with 3:45 remaining in the game to give Highline a 7 – 6 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over the Beavers, Wednesday, at Moshier Park in Burien.  Ballard jumped out to a 3 – 2 advantage at the half before trading goals with Highline through the third and most of the fourth quarters.  Tanner Seramur had 12 saves in the win for Hihgline.  John DeGarm netted 2 goals and Onstad-Hawes recorded 8 saves for the Beavers.

Islanders cruise past Tacoma in girls lacrosse

MERCER ISLAND – Tyler Sherper netted 5 goals to lead Mercer Island to a 22 – 6 girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Tacoma, Wednesday at Islander Stadium.  The Islanders struck early, jumping out to a 14 – 5 halftime lead before adding another 8 goals in the second half to lock in the win.  Sydney Tomlinson, Elena Skouras and Madison Blackburn each added 4 goals and Erika Eagan had 7 saves in the win.  Sadie Treleven and Katie Transue each netted 2 goals and Charlie Cisakowski had 10 saves in goal for Tacoma.

Issaquah and Snohomish girls play to a 16 – 16 lacrosse tie

SNOHOMISH –  Katie Mincin netted 7 goals for Issaquah as the Eagles played to a 16 – 16 tie in girls Division I high school lacrosse action, Wednesday at Glacier Peak High School.  Snohomish took an 11 – 5 lead into the half before Issaquah came charging back in the second with 11 goals of their own to avoid the loss.  Stephanie Lamphere scored 5 goals and Meaghan Hess had 4 for Snohomish.

Bellevue East downs Forest Ridge in girls lacrosse

BELLEVUE – Sophie Wolz scored 5 goals and contributed 8 assists as Bellevue East downed Forest Ridge 18 – 14 in girls Division II high school lacrosse, Wednesday at Robinswood Park in Bellevue.  Camille Sullivan and Kayla Miller each had 4 goals in the win.  Kelly Brennan had 5 goals, an assist and 6 ground balls for Forest Ridge.

Overlake’s dozen downs Snohomish in girls D2 lacrosse

SNOHOMISH – Overlake put up an even dozen goals as the Owls downed Snohomish 12 – 6 in girls Division II high school lacrosse, Wednesday at Glacier Peak High School.

Tahoma pulls away from North Kitsap for girls lax win

POULSBO – Madison Casey grabbed a nifty pass from Sadie Nelson to score the go-ahead goal with 14:02 remaining as Tahoma outlasted North Kitsap 10 – 8 in girls Division II high school lacrosse action, Wednesday at North Kitsap High School.  Tahoma held a 6 – 5 lead at the intermission before the two battled to a 7 – 7 tie at the 14-minute mark of the fourth.  Kylie Whitehead, Hannah McGehee, Sierra Rodesovic and Casey all had 2 goals for Tahoma.  Emile Poffenroth netted 6 goals and Val Kranich had 17 saves for North Kitsap.

Bense’s late goals lifts Mukilteo over Wenatchee in girls lacrosse

MUKILTEO – Teryn Bence scored twice in the final 4 minutes to lift Mukilteo to its first win of the season in an 11 – 8 girls Division II high school lacrosse win over Wenatchee, Wednesday at Kamiak High School.  Mukilteo took an early two goal lead into the half before battling with Wenatchee through most of the second.  With Mukilteo leading by a goal with just over 6 minutes remaining, Wenatchee’s Taylor Christensen found the back of the net for the fifth time of the night to knot the game at 8.  Bence and Sierra Shaw each had 3 goals for Mukilteo.  Katie Hottkamp had 8 saves for Wenatchee.
