The Shy Boys, Ted Vigil to Headline Maritime Gig Entertainment

The annual Maritime Gig Festival will include several performers including The Shy Boys, Seattle Junior Tamburitzans and Soulstice.

The will be featuring entertainment for the whole family to enjoy this weekend at Skansie Brothers Park.

The annual event, organized by the , will include several musicians and comedians in addition to plenty of festival food and beverages.

Here’s the rundown of some of the entertainers for this weekend:

Soulstice: The popular Northwest band, will be entertaining with a wide variety of Top 40 music mixed in with a great selection of tunes by Fleetwood Mac to get the party started. Performing together for more than eight years, Soulstice occasionally performs the music of Fleetwood Mac with the South Kitsap Marching Band at some of the Northwest’s largest venues. (Saturday, 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

Bill Robison: Robison brings his unique and masterful style of physical comedy to the Pavilion Stage. Charming audience young and old around the world, Robison uses his rubber like face, elastic body and limitless energy to transport audiences to a zany, unpredictable and hilarious world. He’s also performed at the Puyallup Fair and Seattle’s Moisture Festival. (Saturday, 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.)

Roberto the Magnificent: The performer makes a triumphant return to the Gig’s Pavilion stage with his famous “Crazy Comedy Stunt Show”. Filled with comedic chatter, breathtaking visual stunts and lots of audience participation, audiences will love his wild comical antics, high-energy pace and amazing stunts. (Saturday, 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)

The Shy Boys: For the second consecutive year, the Gig Harbor-based band has been voted “Best Band” in South Sound Magazine’s Best of the South Sound. The will be opening for The Shy Boys. (Saturday, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.)

Seattle Junior Tamburitzans: Don’t miss a special performance on Sunday morning, as the Tamburitzans perform the music and dance from different regions of Croatia with native costumes and instruments. Music is played on a family of string instruments known as the "Tamburitza", and all the current instructors are graduates of the Seattle Junior Tamburitzans who continue to pass on the traditions to the next generation. (Sunday, 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.)

Ted Vigil: Making his first appearance at the Maritime Gig, the John Denver Tribute artist and his band, will be performing in a special Sunday afternoon concert on the Pavilion stage. After winning an international singing contest in 2006, and a year later claiming first place on Northwest Afternoon’s Celebrity lookalike contest, the singer began his John Denver Tribute show. Vigil and his band currently all live in the Pacific Northwest. (Sunday, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

Throughout the weekend, performances from Peninsula School Groups, Arletta Sound, Peninsula Youth Orchestra, Kiwanis Star Search and Harbor Dance will also be taking place.
